The design on these T-shirts was taken from an old showground poster for the Slim Dusty Show 'round the time of the heady days of the "Pub With No Beer" release, late 1950's. In 1958, EMI presented Slim with Australia's first, and only, gold 78rpm record to mark the phenomenal sales of "The Pub." It was Australia's 1st blockbuster record and Australia's 1st international hit. At the time Slim & Joy were doing the showground circuit in partnership with Frank Foster and so all the show banners featured a huge gold record painted with real gold leaf, and the crowds simply flocked to the show.
